YEEE!'s goal is to prepare young people in these areas -

Youth Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, and Employment!

YEEE! is a youth workforce development program rooted in the belief that education is for liberation.

WHAT WE OFFER
Earn while you learn

At YEEE! we equip young people with the knowledge, skills, resources, and drive to become the next socially and critically-conscious, justice-focused, action-oriented contributors to San Mateo County.

Workshops & Trainings

Our job readiness training workshops support youth in gaining the tools needed to enter the workforce

1:1 Coaching & Leadership Opportunities

YEEE! participants receive individual coaching and are given opportunities to grow as a leader in their community

Paid Internship Opportunities

YEEE! participants are paid a stipend-based wage that averages out to $16.00/hr

Field Trips & Site Tours

YEEE! participants are taken on college & career exploration field trips and site tours to learn about different industries

Work—Based Learning Credit

YEEE! participants receive a minimum of 120 work-based learning hours and school credit

Life after High School

Our participants leave YEEE! prepared to accomplish their future goals and aspirations

What to expect

YEEE! summer participants can expect the following:

Eligibility

  • Rising 9th-grade to 12th-grade students

  • Students attending Sequoia High School District

  • Students with lEPs, Disabilities, and Dreamers

  • Priority enrollment will be given to students who identify as Black, Latino/a/x, and Pacific Islander

3-Week
Job Training

  • Onboarding

  • Program Kick Off

  • Job Training Workshops

  • College & Career Exploration Opportunities

  • Academic Counseling

  • 1:1 Coaching

5-Week
Work- Based Learning Site Placement

  • Career Academy or Internship Placement

  • Limited Pre-Apprenticeship Placements

  • Performance Review

  • 1:1 Coaching

  • YEEE! Portfolio + Showcase

YEEE! Growth Mindset

  • 120 hours of Work-Based Learning experience

  • Paid work experience
    ($16-18/hr)

  • High School Credit

  • Meaningful relationships and experiences
